Ada Lovelace (1815-1852) was an English mathematician and writer who is considered the world's first computer programmer. She worked with Charles Babbage on his proposed general-purpose computer, the Analytical Engine. Lovelace's notes on the engine contain what is now recognized as the first algorithm intended for implementation on a computer, making her a pioneer in the field of computer science.
